"Mavili Theater Steel Grandstand" – Athens

Tesseract Engineers undertook the structural design of the new steel grandstand at Mavili Theatre in Athens. The structural system was designed to accommodate the architectural layout and the operational requirements of the theatre, while providing the required strength, stability and serviceability under audience, imposed and seismic loads. Particular attention was given to the efficient configuration of the steel members, the lateral stability of the grandstand and the detailing of its connections. The design was developed in close coordination with the architectural team, ensuring a lightweight and practical structural solution that could be efficiently fabricated and assembled within the constraints of the existing theatre space.
