Reconstruction of Residential Building Block in Vrilissia, Athens

Tesseract Engineers were commissioned as the structural engineering consultants for the reconstruction and retrofitting of a residential apartment block in Athens. Originally built in the early 1970s, the building was fully renovated to comply with modern functional and regulatory requirements, while carefully retaining the distinctive architectural character and aesthetic of its time. Our office was actively involved from the early design stages, undertaking a thorough structural assessment, including on-site investigations and laboratory testing. Based on these findings, we developed a detailed retrofitting strategy, which also incorporated the structural design for the addition of a new storey. Tesseract Engineers subsequently provided full supervision services throughout the retrofitting works.
